Overheard at... Starbucks

"This is where the groupies sit."

I admit it... I am a Starbucks groupie. I had never understood the attraction of being a groupie until I became one. Just imagine, knowing the inner working of your favorite band; how they practice, what they eat, what they think about their music, their fans, their managers. It is very compelling.

Groupie is a good description too... I often see the same group of people enjoying their coffee and doing their work at my local Starbucks. Some are business people, some are professors, some are moms. Whatever their reason for being there, it is nice to see them every week; nice to share the little parts of our daily lives, like what the weather is doing or what our weekend plans are.
