... Nothing!
I'll admit it, I've been too intent on soaking up every minute of time writing and haven't really paid any attention to what has been going on around me. Which could be a problem, because.... it validates my concern that I am perhaps too self-absorbed to be a great writer. Really! I've been to the workshops; I've heard the expert speakers (aka published writers!) talk about the importance of observation as a writer. In fact, one of my very favorite speakers, Eric Whitchey, has a technique he uses of noting observations, like 'food in a beard' or an antique broom resting against a doorframe', and then randomly picking three to jump start his writing every morning. (He has a ton of other great ideas on his website, Ericwhitchey.com. Or... there's a link to his site fro.) So, I'm pretty sure, without these keen powers to come up with five different desriptions of a sunset, my writing is destined to sit on my computer indefinitely. I would spend some time today coming up with a plan for combatting this, but I really, really want to just write.... Maybe tomorrow.
