ASIAD: Expecting an Upset from Vietnam eSports

The ASIAD 2026 schedule on October 1 will officially close tonight with a series of crucial semifinals and the highly anticipated medals in martial arts events. The main focus, however, remains the League of Legends semifinal between Vietnam and Chinese Taipei, where we are waiting for a highly dramatic script. This match is scheduled for 07:00 AM local time, played in a Best of 3 (Bo3) format. It is crucial to remember that this is not just about winning a gold medal; it is a story of a guaranteed bronze medal already secured for the Vietnamese esports team. While some argue we are at a tactical disadvantage, the core of our strategy lies in making a distinct difference. In esports, the new meta is not about who is stronger, but about what people are afraid of losing. The coaching staff will likely need to use unexpected tactical plans to cover the skill gap, relying on deep preparation rather than the stability typical of larger rivals. This is the moment when intense specialized preparation brings the most effective results. Silence is never a victory; it is only extra time before collapse. If the Vietnamese team advances past the semifinals, it will be a massive upset, earning them a ticket to the final. Intense preparation and high concentration will be the deciding factors, not just luck. This is not the time to give up on the opportunity to win. I do not trust consensus; I trust the reality on the scoreboard.
